Words and Numbers

*stares in bewilderment*
I haven’t updated my blog in a YEAR? WHAT KIND OF INTERNET ADDICT HUMAN BEING AM I. -sob-
So let’s see if I can sum up the past year in a sentence so we can move on to more exciting things. … forget that. Let’s just leave it at ‘I’m in the States again after leaving and coming back and leaving and hopping continents and then coming back and now I’m in college like a good little girl.’ Good ’nuff? Yes.
NaNoWriMo. That time of month where I both nurture my creative side and mourn its demise. How do you pronounce that word, anyway?
So I’ve got 1,300 something words written and I haven’t even introduced the main characters. OH WELL. I’ve got about 48,000 something words to make it up. =O
I have a proposition for all of two (could we even find three?!) crazy nitwits who not only know about NaNoWriMo, know that I’m an MK, and also bother to read my blog. Here it is.
So I’m trying to raise $3,500 to take down to Mexico this summer and build a Geodesic dome. And I had this marvelous revelation while mopping the cafeteria floor. I could ask LOTS OF PEOPLE to donate 10 cent for every 1,000 words I write this month. And then gather it ALL UP (along with my hard-earned cafeteria-mopping money) and take it down to Mexico this summer and build a cabin so little Mexican kids can find out about how cool God is and be changed for all eternity.
Sound good? I thought so, too. LET’S DO THIS THING.
Contact me at cherith@rycca.org.mx if you’re interested in making a tax-free donation to Camps International during the month of November. The process of figuring out the logistics of this fantastic idea is under construction.
